Busting 5 Beauty Myths
![]() |
In a world where everyone has beauty advice for you, I want to bust some common beauty myths which I am sure you are following. I also followed some beauty advice that was completely false.
So, I'm going to debunk some beauty misconceptions here. I'm sorry if I flouted your belief, but Gawd, I have to.
#Myth1
Under-eye bags can be reduced by using cucumber slices, potato slices, or tea bags on a daily basis.
What you need to know-
For swollen eyes, it is just a quick remedy. The blood vessels in the tissues may produce pigmentation and puffiness around the eyes or may be caused by genes.
The blood vessels constrict when you put cooled tea sacks or cucumbers, creating the illusion of reduced puffiness.
#Myth 2
The longer you keep hair oil on, the better it is for your hair.
What you need to know -
Too much oil makes your scalp greasy. This leads to using a lot more shampoo, in order to remove oil. And, of course, using an excess amount of shampoo results in
#Myth 3
Drinking eight or more glasses of water will keep your skin hydrated.
What you need to know-
No matter how much water you have, your body will only retain so much and flush out the rest. Besides water, you need to moisturize your skin with a good moisturizer.
Also, include foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like, nuts, salmon, avocado, etc to combat any skin problem.
#Myth 4
Replace sugar with jaggery and it doesn't increase weight
What you need to know-
There is no doubt that jaggery is much better than refined sugar. But, if you are on your weight loss journey, and want to cut down your sugar consumption, then this is not a good idea.
jaggery has the same calorie value as sugar and honey. The glycemic index is also very high, which leads to an increase in sugar levels. So, if you are looking for weight loss,
I suggest you go for plant-based sweeteners, like stevia, rather than using jaggery or honey.
#Myth 5
You don't need sunscreen on cloudy days or in winters
What you need to know-
You need sunscreen in every season. It prevents skin damage from harmful rays (I'm sure. you know that). And since sun rays are always present, you need sunscreen throughout the year.
Tell me-
👇Which myth you are following?
xoxo
